Farm Art

I took a trip to the country side and had a chance to paint on a side of a barn here in Sweden. Just some freehand of a horse. Below is a video time lapse.

The last couple of days (June 2nd and 3rd) I worked on my mural for the city of Borås. The mural I painted was placed in the town center which is a great step forward for street-art/graffiti culture. I hope that the mural will stay there permanently and while I do not expect everyone to love it, I do think it is a good replacement to a blank wall that existed there before :)

Bethlehem

A couple of weeks ago (early May) I was invited by a good friend of mine David Freid to come to the Holy Land of Jerusalem. David was there to film a documentary about the art on the wall which separates Israel and Palestine. Knowing the risk involved, I got on a plane and after a few days spent in West Bank in Palestine, I finished this piece below. The piece was based on a photograph which David took of a Jordanian Bedouin. Below is the mural as well as the original photo the mural was based on. The documentary will be released later in summer and you can come here to see it and get more details about it :)

My mural in Stockholm

I had the pleasure to put up a large mural in Stockholm following my solo exhibition at The Scarlett Gallery (photos of the opening coming soon).

Some work I did recently.

The Sheep

This piece is titled "The Sacrifice of a Wolf in Sheep's Clothing".

Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves. (Gospel of Matthew)

A Wolf in Sheeps Clothing is an idiom of Biblical origin. It is used of those playing a role contrary to their real character, with whom contact is dangerous. In this piece I painted a wolf with a sheep body (his legs tied together as he is placed up for sacrifice). While the Biblical version warns of evil-doers, I chose to play from the idea that evil doers have consequences (hence the sacrifice).

Cop on Duty

Another dala making his way through Gothenburg. The white sign I placed next to it reads "No Public Art Allowed! By Order of Gothenburg Council. Police on Duty 24/7". Funny enough, this painting was placed around the corner from the office of Gothenburg Council (who are the ones who voted on the strict graffiti/street-art laws for Gothenburg city). Oh the irony. :)

Oh Snap!

I took a break from my Dala Horses for a short minute, and added a CameraBird on the top of a construction wall which has had a lot of street-art activity on it in the last few weeks (including my recent black dala horse). I thought the "You Are Being Watched" feel was appropriate. :)
