MOM&POPism

MOM & POPism (the book)

An exhibition I participated in which was presented by Gawker Artists and curated by Billi Kid in August of 2009 has released a book featuring photos of the project and exhibition. The project titled MOM & POPism, reinterprets James and Karla Murray’s book, Store Front: The Disappearing Face of New York, in unique collaboration with many of today’s hottest graffiti and street artists.

MOM & POPism brought together graffiti and street artists to create new artworks on top of the Murray’s photographs
—reproduced at close to life-size scale. The collaborating artists besides myself included Blanco, Buildmore, Cake, Celso, Cern, Chris (RWK), Crome, Cycle, David Cooper, Destroy & Rebuild, Enamel Kingdom, Goldenstash, Infinity, Kngee, Lady Pink, Matt Siren, Morgan Thomas, Peru Ana Ana Peru, Plasma Slugs, Royce Bannon, Shiro, The Dude Company, Tikcy, Under Water Pirates, Veng (RWK), Zoltron and Billi Kid
